Congratulations to our September Staff Member of the Month, Mr. Jon DeLuise!

Mr. DeLuise has been our head custodian for the past two months and has spent the last ten years in the industry. Outside of school, he enjoys exercising and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. DeLuise is impressed by the Team Spirit and Willingness to help that he has encountered in our school. Anyone familiar with our school knows the extensive construction work that was done throughout the summer. Without Mr. DeLuise’s hard work and leadership, we would not have been able to open on time on September 8th.

This past Sunday the North sailing team competed in the BBYRA Fall Invitational regatta. The sailors competed under demanding conditions with the wind blowing at a consistent 15mph. They placed 2nd overall out of 15 teams. Next weekend they compete in the Fall Fleet Championship to determine which teams advance to the regional championships. Congratulations and Good Luck!

MEDIA CENTER - CHROMEBOOKS

Charge those Chromebooks!

Only partially charging Chromebooks can lead to a shutdown.

Several of our students have brought in what they thought were broken Chromebooks, but we were able to revive those Chromebooks by charging them for 24 hours. You can prevent this problem by making sure the Chromebook is fully charged overnight.

Does your child have the right Chromebook?

Did you pick up an emergency loaner Chromebook in between March 2019 and December 2020? If so, has your child traded it in for the new Chromebook 3100 model (which includes a protective case)?

The older model Chromebooks are not getting software updates, which means that students with older models won't be able to use them on days we have standardized testing. Students can swap out older models in the Mariner Media Center during Periods 1, 2 and 7.

If interested in a particular school, students should see Mrs. Rose in Guidance to sign up. A list is regularly updated on our school website, www.trschools.com/hsnorth .
