Who is he?
Tim Berners Lee is the man who created the World Wide Web better known as www before you type in a website. He invented it in 1989. Tim is a British computer scientist. He received a knighthood in 2004 from Queen Elizabeth II. Tim was born on 8th June 1955 in London. Tim is currently 60 years old.
Born in 1955 in London, England, Tim Berners-Lee's parents were both mathematicians. Tim Berners-Lee loved electronics from an early age. He graduated as a Physics major from Oxford University in 1976. At Oxford he built his first computer using: a soldering iron, TTL gates, an M6800 processor and an old television.
