Parent / Teacher Conferences

Please remember, parents do not need to wait until early dismissal days to request a parent/teacher conference. You may request one at any time. We do ask that you call or write to schedule a conference and not show up unannounced. This will allow the teacher to prepare for the conference and be ready to discuss any concerns. Many times after school teachers are tutoring, working on lesson plans, meeting with others, or heading out to other responsibilities. They fear sounding rude if they tell you they cannot meet with you when you show up unannounced. Thank you for your understanding.

Birthday Treats and Bringing Lunch for Others

NEISD policy does not allow birthday treats at middle school and high school. This is an exclusive practice at the elementary school level.

Visitors are not permitted to distribute competitive foods to any student other than their own child. Competitive foods are not permitted at any time during the school day except for pre-approved school events. Competitive foods are defined as any food or beverage made available to the student that is not from the school cafeteria. This includes food items available through school stores and fundraisers.

For more information please refer to page 7 in the Student/Parent Handbook

Thank you!

Picking Up Children Early From School

Parents wishing to pick up students early for appointments are asked to check in at the office and request their child be called from class. We cannot call the child from class until the parent is in the office. There are two reasons for this practice. The first reason is for the safety of the child. We do not call students down until we have physically verified that the adult making the request is a parent or parent approved adult. The second reason is we do not want a student missing instruction by waiting in the office. Thank you for your support in this matter.
