Messages from Principal Lefere

I hope you enjoyed your spring break! I did miss the energy and smiling faces of the students, but relished the time in Mexico with my family. For me, spring break provided a welcome time to rest my mind and body and prepare to finish the year with purpose and vigor.

  • Outdoor Learning Pathway School - We are awaiting an update on the timeline for the decision to be made for pathway schools. I will communicate as soon as I hear more.
  • New classroom electronic displays - Over spring break, new classroom displays were installed in every classroom (ViewSonic Interactive Displays). Staff will be learning how they can use them to enhance learning for students.
  • Hiring - We recently completed interviews for a special education assistant for this year and a special education mental health professional for next year. I will let you know when we have further information. We will also be interviewing for our counselor position for next year.
  • Outdoor Amphitheatre - The PTO funded outdoor amphitheater is set to break ground as soon as the later half of April. We are all looking forward to utilizing it for outdoor learning!
2022-2023 ENROLLMENT

The staff at Howbert will soon be working on creating classes for next school year. Two pieces of information that are critical in helping us create classes that are best for all students are:

  • The Intent to Return Questionnaire
  • Parent/Guardian Insight Form

We are asking for your help by completing the questionnaire and form linked below for your child/children as soon as possible.

Please contact the front office (328-4200) if you have any questions.

CMAS Testing

Below you will see the schedule for this year's Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) testing for grades 3, 4, and 5.

Please support your child to do their best by:

  • making sure your child gets good rest.
  • making sure your child eats a good breakfast.
  • avoiding appointments during testing.
  • giving your child lots of love and support.

From social media to online gaming, parents with kids of all ages can learn best practices to help them be on the Internet in safe and healthy ways, including tips and exercises they can use.

This event is being provided by the Howbert PTO.
