South Hills HS: Coach Thomas Nolley
South Hills Football would like to welcome back previous player and alum, Thomas Nolley as our Receiver coach!
In an interview he explained his experience as an athlete as "... extremely fun, I was part of a winning program. I got to experience the transition from being a decent program to a good program. We had people all around going to college. So it was easy for me to go out there and do what I had to do. Everyone was working together to achieve the same thing, I just happened to be good enough to go to college. When I came [to South Hills], I didn't expect to continue playing in college. I just wanted to play. But they gave me the opportunity to go on, I'm very appreciative to the coaches who I under under. That I now get to oach with. They gave me the opportunity to meet new people, and go all across the world. I got a lot of school spirit. Proud Scorpion!"
When asked how it feels to coach a team he used to play for, he described it as " like going full circle for me, I was once in the same position a lot of these [athletes] are in. I sit back and think 'that was just me a few years ago'. So many of them want to play and go off to college and it reminds me of myself. That insprires me to try my best to be the best possible role model for [these athletes] so that they see anything is possible. I enjoy my job and because of that, all my school spirit always excites me to come to work. There is never a dull moment coaching and enjoying the family environment the team gives me. Seeing my boys in the [field house] support each other and help each other in ways that help them grow, makes me feel like I'm accomplishing the goal of passing on my amazing football experience to them. I don't think there's a better place to call family."
How is your coaching experience going?
"Well, I don't know if it's going exactly the way I planned it. Only because I didn't know exactly what to expect when I first started. Everyone has been extremely positive and accepting, One thing I can say is I"m learning something new everyday. And I'm trying not to make the same mistakes twice. My main thing is to try and set good examples for everyone."
We're very happy to have Coach Nolley on staff this year and can't wait to see what strides he makes with our receivers in the future!
Southwest HS
It is indeed a pleasure to have a staff of positive productive and prepared young women to coach our female athletes at Southwest High School.

Thank you to our coaches not pictured, Coach Guess, Coach Ja Washington, and Coach Jo Washington.
Western Hills HS
This school year we started a new weekly meeting with our male athletes. At the beginning of athletic period we have 20-minute conversations that we are calling tough talk Tuesdays. This week's lesson was basic car care and changing a tire. Thanks to Coach Holcomb and Coach Foster for leading today's discussion.
