The first amendment gives you freedoms

The first amendment gives you the freedom of religion.

freedom of religion means you have a right to believe what you want. Say if you walk and police see you and they thought you look like someone else. You can believe that people can pray whatever they want. Nobody could tell you what to do and what to believe.

The first amendment gives you the right to assemble.

The right of assembly means that a group of people can discuss ideas. if you discuss about government why government should leave you alone. If you are surveilling someone's privacy, why would you do that?

The first amendment gives you the freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech means you can say anything you want. For example you walk and police look at your email. If you call someone it is your privacy from the government. When government look at your email and your phone call. Why would government look at our privacy?

In conclusion, the first amendment is important because it protects your privacy from the government.
