Now (what has happened this week)

Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Hello from Balladen School.

We are very proud of our children, the learning that takes place at our school and everyone in our school community: teachers, teaching assistants and every other single person who works at our incredible school.

This week has been another busy week of learning and fun at our school.

We are really proud of the boys and girls who took part in the Table Tennis tournaments on Monday and Tuesday. They tried really hard and did very, very well!

Some of out wonderful Teaching Assistants attended a professional development course on Mental Health Training with a professional from ELCAS. The hours training was very useful and those who attended enjoyed the time to learn.

Our Year One children were lucky enough to spend a morning or an afternoon with Mr. Grime who is our outdoor learning specialist. They went for a walk through the school grounds up to Balladen village. They were even lucky enough to walk through a farmyard! Thank you to Mr. Grime for organising the learning time.

On Thursday some of our girls took part in a football competition at Blackburn. They had a great time, they came second, and you will be able to read all about the competition in our next newsletter.

On Friday we wore red for Valentines day. You can see our smiling faces here.

We also held one of our termly coffee afternoons. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who donated cakes and a big thank you to Mrs. Winstanley for another great afternoon.

We will be celebrating World Book day on Thursday 3rd March. We have sent a letter home and are really looking forward to seeing all of the children (and adults!) dressed up as book characters.

We would like to wish you a wonderful half term holiday and if you are going away or staying home please be safe and we will all see you on Tuesday 23rd February as Monday 22nd February is an inset day at school.
