The School Improvement Team’s Kick Off to SY24! The School Improvement (SI) Team participated in three days of professional learning in July to prepare for a successful school year of supporting Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools. Under the leadership of Mrs. Georgi Nour, Director of School Improvement, the SI Team actively engaged in team-building activities and professional learning. The topics covered included: CCRPI, Instructional Strategies, Leading from Where You Are, Coaching for Stronger Implementation: From Collaborative Planning to Classroom Instruction, and Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics. The SI Team shared resources and tools aligned to the Georgia Department of Education’s systems and structures to help school leaders, teachers, and support staff focus on the “right work” to build the capacity of school teams and create a culture of sustainability to improve student outcomes. The team armed themselves with strategies to continuously support schools by implementing Short-term Action Plans to reduce instructional variability in classrooms and focused on supporting the whole child.
