EdPlan Updates and Changes
As you log in to EdPlan this fall, you will notice several updates and changes that will affect you. The initial screen has a 'message' at the top that will enlighten you - great info in a short format.
If you write Transition for students in Section 3, please note: there are now required measurable goals in Section 3 in addition to the info we previously compiled. *This is not a change in the expectation of the law - simply a change in how we document within EdPlan. It brings our working IEP document one step closer to being a living, active plan that guides our decisions as our students move through high school and transition to "real life".

IEP Check!
IEP and Re-Eval Dates - Very Important
Now is a great time to look ahead through your caseload and plan for these for the coming year.
- Check your Re-eval dates - is this a student's re-eval year?
- Check your IEP expiration dates - these tend to migrate earlier than the Re-Eval date over the course of 3 years.
Our goal:
- to capture BOTH the Re-Eval and Annual in the same meeting, in one IEP
- to finalize a REED at least 30 school days before the IEP expires.
*A REED is REQUIRED on a re-eval year. We either have sufficient data, or not, and note accordingly in the document.
** Please do not wait for the IEP schedule to be emailed to determine if you have an IEP coming up. By the time schedules are compiled, there is not necessarily enough time left to do all of the evaluations needed before the IEP meeting if you haven't already pulled your REED. Rather, plan to pull those documents at a minimum of 30 school days before the current IEP will expire. Alert Kim that you have pulled that document, and it is finalized, and she will build the meeting schedule within the timeframe you have set (30 school days from district receipt of parental consent).
S'more to come on this hot topic!
