Terry Branstad
Terry Branstad was born, raised, and educated in Iowa. Terry was elected to the Iowa House in 1972, 1974, and 1976, and was elected as Iowa's lieutenant governor in 1978. Branstad was Iowa's governor from 1983-1999. As the state's cheif executive, he took care of some of Iowa's worst economic turmoil, during the farm crisis of the 80's, while helping lead the state's resurgence to a recovered economy in the 90's. Terry Edward Branstad is 66 and has been the 42nd governor since January 2011. He was the 39th governor of Iowa from 1983-1999 and was president of Des Moines University from 2003-2009. He's a Republican and went to Drake University, University of Iowa, and Drake University Law school. His spouses name is Chris Branstad and they have three children.
