Dublin Times
Back to School Edition 2021-2022
I am thrilled to be starting my first full year as principal at Dublin Elementary. I have worked for Walled Lake Schools since 2011, previously serving as a teacher at several elementary schools.
We work very hard at Dublin to create meaningful relationships with our students and families. Getting to know all of our students and families is a top priority. We look forward to your partnership and thank you for your help in making this school year a success!

Back-to-School Online Registration
The registration window is open and you can find directions on how to complete the online "packet" on this website. This must be completed in order to see your child’s classroom/teacher assignment.
Enrollment
It is very IMPORTANT that new families enroll ASAP. Each new enrollment impacts class sizes and the number of sections per grade. If you know of any families in the Dublin attendance area with incoming kindergarten or new students, please encourage them to register ASAP.
If you have questions about enrollment, please contact Student Services at 248-956-2085 or 248-956-2086. You can also contact our main office for help.
Classroom/Teacher Assignments
Please remember that it is our top priority to develop appropriate classroom groupings that will provide all of our children with the best opportunity for academic and social success. Our staff has worked extremely hard in determining the most appropriate classroom placements for all students individually and collectively. It is so important to us that all of our children have the best opportunity for academic and social success this upcoming school year. As a result, no changes to class assignments will be made. We are committed to providing each child an exceptional education and overall great school experience.
First Day of School - August 25
We ask that parents and students practice walking to your child's classroom and take any pictures with your child's teacher during our meet and greet event on August 23rd. For the health and safety of our students, staff, and community, we respectfully ask that students walk to their classroom on their own starting on the first day of school. We have many staff members that will be available to help students find their way to their classroom should they need support. Thank you for your help with this.
Meet and Greet
***Please Note: The first required work day for teachers is 8/23 and they will be engaged in professional learning for the majority of the day. I have assured teachers that it is NOT the expectation that classrooms are completely ready for the Meet and Greet. Thank you for understanding!

Please review the following information from our transportation department:
- If your child is eligible for bus transportation, it is recommended that they start this routine on the first day of school.
- Bus Stops/Routes: Bus stops/routes will be posted on the district website and Skyward Family Access the week of August 16, 2021. www.wlcsd.org
- Bus Drivers - Bus drivers will be contacting all kindergarten families to introduce themselves. You can expect a phone call from your child’s driver in the coming weeks! Health and Safety Updates
A message from Superintendent Gutman:
Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer, especially after the challenging times we all experienced over the last couple of school years. As we look forward to welcoming you back for the 2021-2022 school year, it is important to share some information relative to our plans for a more “normal” year.
As you know, over the last year we instituted safety measures based upon recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the Oakland County Health Division. We have reviewed the current recommendations and, having now had significant experience in navigating our previous safety measures, we are prepared to return to normalcy. To that end:
- Masks are recommended but not required;
- We will not continue with close contact quarantining;
- Student athletes will not be tested for COVID; and,
- Vaccines are not required for school attendance.
We will continue to report any COVID-19 cases to the Oakland County Health Department as required, and we expect that students and staff who are symptomatic or who test positive will stay home for their safety and the safety of others.
As we return to our normal school days/hours/procedures and we abandon utilizing dividers between our children, please know that the well-being of our entire school community remains our priority, and we will continue to monitor COVID-19 cases, follow the law, and continue to evaluate any future recommendations. Additional information regarding the upcoming school year is outlined in this FAQ, also listed on our website.
As always we appreciate your support and partnership on behalf of our children, and we look forward to a wonderful school year. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer!
