Dear Woodcreek Families:
We are excited to announce the return of Dual Credit Summer Academy hosted by Advanced Academics and Lone Star College- Kingwood! The Summer Academy is a great opportunity for our students to earn dual credit (both high school & college credits) for coursework not typically available during the regular academic year. Courses are 100% online and students will be in cohort groups of other Humble ISD students. Eligibility requirements include class standing (at least an incoming 9th grader) and ability to show college readiness. Please visit the Dual Credit Summer Academy website for dates and more details or reach out to your child’s counselor to register and ensure they meet the college readiness requirements. Registration opens on March 29 and closes April 30. Financial aid is available for qualifying students.
Sincerely,

State Testing Announcement
All Woodcreek Middle School students (virtual and on campus learners) must be offered their STAAR, TELPAS, STAAR Alternate, and STAAR EOC assessments in a supervised environment on campus. Each grade level takes different assessments. Please click here to find out which grade level assessments your student is eligible for.
While the grades 6-8 STAAR and grades 6-8 STAAR Alternate tests will not be used to determine promotion to the next grade level this school year, all students must pass all 5 End of Course Exams (EOCs) to graduate high school, and students who are eligible must pass the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) assessments to exit the LEP program. To find out when your student's state assessments will be offered at WMS, check the schedule here. Information about state testing for WMS virtual students can be found here. If you wish to opt your student out of testing, please complete this form and return it to Lisa Campbell at lisa.campbell@humbleisd.net.
Please note that, even with an opt out form on file, if your child is present on campus on their scheduled testing day (including makeup days), WMS is required by TEA to offer your child the assessment.
If you have any questions about state assessments, please contact our campus testing coordinator Lisa Campbell at lisa.campbell@humbleisd.net.
