Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 30th April 2021
Fabulous football festival
On Thursday, children across the school enjoyed taking part in a football festival despite getting a little soggy! In KS1 children showcased their excellent dribbling and shooting skills to score points for their team. In KS2 children put their skills into action in competitive matches. The overall winners of the festival were the mighty Dragons! Well done to everyone for showing such great sportsmanship!
Investigating Soil!
Frog Watch in Nursery
The tadpoles are now in week 9 of their time in Nursery and the children have been really excited to see them grow and change from tiny frogspawn into tadpoles. We have been feeding them cat food and banana (which Google says they love) and we are starting to see tiny little legs beginning to grow. The children can't wait to see them transform into frogs!
Pirate Disco
Our theme is water transport, and in our outside area the children have made a pirate ship, so...how better to practise our fine motor skills but dressed as pirates for pirate dough disco!!
Congratulations Mrs McIlmurray!

School Update
Despite the weather, it has been great that the children have been able to have a Football Festival this week. They really enjoyed the opportunity to play together (within their bubbles) and contribute to a school wide competition.
As the COVID situation continues to improve we are hopeful that the opportunities for more extra curricular activities will increase.
Parent Consultations
We have received some really positive feedback regarding consultations, with the new system making it easier for both parents to be present, the removal of the need for child care and meetings running to time. Thank you to everyone who took a couple of minutes to complete our survey last week. We would welcome more contributions, so please click the link below if you have not yet answered the questionnaire.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Have a great weekend.
Kind regards
