Parent Outreach

In the past, Alcoa Elementary School has hosted a parent-teacher conference night. Since this night can be a busy whirlwind, Alcoa Intermediate has decided not to have a single parent-teacher night but to encourage parents to schedule a conference with their child's teacher on an afternoon that works best. Mrs. Macejewski and I would love to meet with anyone that would like to come in and meet with us about their student or to answer any questions. Feel free to email, write a note in the planner, or call us to schedule one.

Upcoming Important Dates

This Week

Division with remainders! The students worked on finding different strategies for determining the answer to division story problems that required remainders. Counting out one at a time or in groups, using multiplication facts, constructing a ratio table, or using tiles were a few ways that we were able to demonstrate a division problem.

Social Studies
This week the students picked one of the prehistoric Native American groups to further research and to start working on a research paper. They used graphic organizers to begin putting together a 5 paragraph paper focusing on the time period, tools, weapons, housing and other ways of life.
