Welcome New Staff
Heather DeVore, Registrar
Meet Cascadia Tech’s newest Registrar - Heather DeVore. As CTA’s enrollment has increased, the school is able to add staff to meet the registration needs. Heather loves having the opportunity to work with students and support their successes. She loves the hands-on training this school offers. Please stop by the main office and give her a Cascadia Tech welcome!
Joycelyn Lucas, Paraeducator Cosmetology
Joycelyn "Joyce" Lucas has 43 years as a K-12 Paraeducator for Evergreen Public Schools. Joyce shared that she is settling into her new role in the Cosmetology program. She is excited to be utilizing her vast and varied years of experience to assist the students and staff navigate the school year.
Justin Bennett, Pro-Tech Culinary
Mr. Bennett is a difficult title for this 2014 graduate of the Culinary, Baking & Pastry Arts program to become accustomed. He attended the Culinary Institute of the America in New York, followed by being Sous Chef at EVOO in Cannon Beach and Chef at Intel’s Hillsboro campus. Justin is soon to be a father of two and is excited to “be coming home” to Cascadia Tech. Bon Appetit!
Stephanie Johnson, Clinic Manager Dental
Former Dental program graduate, Stephanie Johnson, has been involved in the local dental community since 1999. Current instructors are excited to have Stephanie and her years of industry experience, overseeing clinic operations. She is excited and embraces the opportunity to share her professional knowledge and passion for lifelong learning with the students.
On The Front Lines
Aviation Instructor and National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Rob Reinebach, is currently serving to support Covid taxed hospitals throughout Oregon. Mr. Reinebach's unit was deployed August 27 by Governor Kate Brown. The Guard motto of “Always ready, Always there”, fully describes Mr. Reinebach’s commitment to his country and his students.
Guard members will perform non-clinical support, that increases capacity and frees up medical professionals. Duties include material handling, equipment and Covid testing support, laundry and custodial services, security and traffic control.
The activation took members, their families and employers by surprise. What could be a challenge for Mr. Reinebach’s first year Aviation Technology students, becomes a “teachable moment”. One offering examples in serving others above self, a lesson in personal and professional flexibility and a guide for future employment options.
Cascadia Tech is proud to have Rob a member of its staff. We look forward to his swift return.
