5th Grade Parents
Dear Parents/Guardians 5th Grade Students,
We are excited that Millard Public Schools will be continuing our elementary One-to-One iPad deployment during the 2019-20 school year. Each 5th grade student will be receiving a 9.7-inch model Apple iPad with case. Students will be receiving their iPads during the first few weeks of school. Once you have submitted all the necessary paperwork during the Online Registration (OLR) process your child may be allowed to take their school iPad home.
Millard Public School’s current Strategic Plan, specifically Strategies 2.2 “Maximize personalized learning to meet the diverse academic needs of all students” and 2.4 “Engage in innovative practices to maximize learning for students and staff” supports increasing access to technology at grades 3 through 5 and aligns to the Millard Educational Program by:
Fostering the Five C’s of the College & Career Readiness and 21st Century Skills among our students. Specifically: Citizenship, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication.
Teachers implementing and integrating technology to augment, modify, and redefine instruction transforming how students learn.
Personalizing learning through innovative practices and expanded opportunities for all students.
Students will have access to a wide-range of educational software and applications including Numbers, Pages, Clips, and Google’s G Suite for Education.
To learn more about the upcoming elementary One-to-One iPad deployment please refer to the frequently asked questions for parents/students available on the Millard Public Schools One-to-One iPad website at http://one-to-one.mpsomaha.org/. This resource will expand as we continue with our One-to-One journey. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you again for your ongoing support of our students and our school.
