What was it?
The Dust Bowl was an area of land where the soil was blown away and the Great Plains were covered in dust. There were lots of big dust storms where big clouds of dust rolled over houses and farms. The Dust Bowl lasted 8 years; 1931-1939
What caused the Dust Bowl?
Wind erosion blew the soil away and brought dust to the surface and caused dust storms.
Farmers plowed all the fields and the wind protecting plants could not protect anymore and the wind blew the topsoil off.
