Jaguar Tracks
December 2nd
Dear JE community,
I hope that you all had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving. I want to thank all who donated breads to our staff. In my house, it felt like you were a part of our Thanksgiving dinner :).
New JE Instagram: One piece of awesome feedback in the survey that I included in the Tracks for families last year was around sharing more pictures!! I was inspired by Wood End's incredible instagram account and made one for JE! We are so excited to share a window into learning and our school culture in this way!! Please FOLLOW us at "je_jaguars"! On this page, you will find pictures of the jog, the school store opening, girls on the run and more!! This is a private account, so you will need to follow us to see the pictures!
PBIS: Positive Behavior Incentive Program (School-Wide): Please watch this VIDEO that shares a window into how JE positively reinforces our Core Values and information on our Grade 3-5 School Store, which was open today for third graders. Fourth grade is up next week! Fourth Graders, please bring your completed spot cards to Door 6 at 8:00!
We are looking for 1-2 more parents/guardians to lead the School Store!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
📌Jaguar Jog: A HUGE thank you to Erin Gaffen for coordinating the return of the Jaguar Jog!! This JE tradition, an annual fun run, resumes after a several year hiatus. It requires the support of our faculty and staff, parent volunteers, and the Reading Police Department. Thank you to everyone who helped make the Jaguar Jog a success!
Holiday Breads: Thank you to our Holiday Breads coordinators, Sue Newell and Anne Maganzini, as well as to everyone who donated breads! We are so happy to continue this tradition of giving back to our faculty and staff as they headed into a well-deserved Thanksgiving break.
📌Reading Food Pantry Food Drive The Student Council and PTO are partnering to collect donations for the Reading Food Pantry. Please consider contributing an item or two from the recommended list below. A collection bin will be left outside the main office beginning November 14 through December 9. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

📌 Please take this brief survey as we gauge interest in a potential spring 2023 charity golf tournament at Meadowbrook Golf Club to benefit the JE PTO. This survey is not a commitment to participate, but we need to determine if there is enough interest by at least 40 people before moving forward. Reading Public Schools is a METCO District
"Since its founding during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement, the METCO program has enrolled tens of thousands of Boston students of color in predominately white school districts, creating the opportunity for those districts to experience the advantages of learning and working in a racially and ethnically diverse setting."
Found Family Program
Please take a look at the attached document detailing our “Found Family” Program. With the collaboration of 8th grade students from Parker Middle School and all Elementary PTO’s we produced the name “Found Family,” and this document for our district Found Family program. What does Found Family mean? “A group of people who find themselves united in a family-bond based on shared experiences, mutual understanding, and interpersonal connection. Found Family is not biological but found when placed in a new place.”
