Principal's Corner
There is religious school this Sunday for all grades including Gan Katan. Due to Mitzvah day, at dismissal all parents and guardians will need to walk into the building to get their children.
Mitzvah Day - Sunday, November 20th at 11:30 am
Please plan on joining your child at religious school and help us give back to our community. We will all start in the social hall before breaking into the smaller groups. Below is a list of the different activities happening on Mitzvah Day.
- Donate lightly used or new winter coats which can be dropped off outside the religious school office.
- Donate your change to the Men's clubs coin collection
- Stuff homeless care bags. Room parents will be in touch with how you can help!
- Create and write Hanukkah cards for the IDF
- Enhance our holocaust garden with a lesson from the daffodil project.
- Help polish the silver on the Torah and participate in a lesson with the Rabbi
- Participate in our community We Care phone-a-thon to reach out to members in our community that might need help.
Every grade level has been given a specific item to donate towards our homeless bags.
- Gan Katan - Tissues/Lotion
- Grade 1 - Hand Sanitizer
- Grade 2 - Hand Sanitizer
- Grade 3 - Contribution towards socks
- Grade 4 - Quart Sized Ziplock Bags
- Grade 5 - Tissue Packs/ Chapstick
- Grade 6/7 - Contribution towards handwarmers

Cranford Clergy Council Interfaith Service - Monday, November 21st at 7:30 pm
Cranford Clergy Council is coming together once again to offer their Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Monday, November 21 at Calvary Tabernacle.at 7:30 p.m. The service is set to honor Cranford' Fire and Police Departments, as well as the Cranford First Aid Squad. The Clergy Council is also asking that participants bring an food item to be donated to Cranford Family Care and the Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey as an "offering of Thanksgiving."
Parent Child Book Club - Tuesday, November 29th at 6:00pm
Our first parent child book club for children in 5th grade and up will immediately following religious school. We will be reading the book, "The Prettiest" written by Brigit Young. We are lucky to have Brigit as a member of our congregation and she will be leading a discussion about the book over some delicious pizza and falafel. RSVP today by clicking here. Pre-Hanukkah Havdalah - Saturday, December 17th at 6:00pm
- Join us for Havdalah and dinner followed by a visit from educator and award winning author Dori Weinstein! Dori is coming to TBEMC to talk with out students about writing and publishing and to share her Jewish Children's chapter book series. I strongly encourage reading her Hanukkah book, "In a Latkah Trouble" with your family prior to the event. Make sure to RSVP today!
TBEMC Hanukkah Party - Tuesday, December 20th at 6:15pm
- A pizza and Latkah dinner will be served to all students that attend religious school on Tuesday prior to the party. Stay after religious school and join us as we light the Hanukkiah outside with the entire Cranford community. Yummy donuts and hot cocoa will be provided.
