CCPS Community:

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, the Capstone Gallery Walk occurs annually each May. This year's event was held on Monday and our students successfully rose to the task of sharing their research with parents, teachers, elected officials, members of the community, and business representatives. Congratulations to all of our students who participated.

On Thursday evening, many from across the county gathered at Elkton High School for the Cecil County Council's public budget hearing. I would like to thank those who attended and spoke in support of CCPS. For the second consecutive year, the County Executive's proposed budget seeks to fund CCPS with the minimum amount required by law. While the County Council does not have the ability to add to our budget, we hope that they will support our schools to the extent to which they are able. We believe that our students are worth the investment.

It is hard to believe that we are just two weeks away from graduations and less than a month away from the end of the school year. I look forward to continuing this season of celebration as we take time to recognize our students for all of their accomplishments.
