Go Crusaders!
Hello Stafford Families,
I want to give a big shout out to our Crusader families. You all have been understanding and patient with us during this adjustment period and we are very thankful to you. I hope that you all have taken the time to access and begin working on the 20 day plan with your student. Throughout each week, I will be reaching out to my students to assist with these assignments. Although we may not be able to meet in our classrooms, there are activities you and your child can do to keep their brains active and working on skills specific to Dyslexia instruction. Below are three activities I encourage you to complete with your child. Hangman and the rhyming challenge can be done anywhere; take some time and do these activities in your drive way, porch, or under a tree for shade.
Sincerely,
Miss Matos

Phonemic Awareness: Rhyming Challenge
Whether you are in the car, taking a walk, or sitting at the table, a Rhyme Challenge is an easy game that requires no set-up, clean-up, or materials whatsoever. You can play it anywhere-just pick a word.
For example, if I pick the word sat, you and another player have to see who can list more words that rhyme with "cat". i.e. cat--sat, fat, spat, rat...
Whoever comes up with the most rhyming words in 1 minute wins that round and then you move onto the next round.

Thank you Parents!
I want to thank you all for being patient as we learn and grow together through online teaching. I hope that the students have dipped into the curriculum platforms we utilize a little bit and hope to bring more interactive modules with SeeSaw as we move forward through the month of April. Below you will find the 3 curriculum and data collection platforms we use in school and now in home. I will continue to keep in touch daily to support you all to the best of my ability from afar.
Stay safe and enjoy this time with your family.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gaona
