March 2, 2017 – The Georgia Department of Education today released its 2016-2017 list of Title I Reward Districts and Reward Schools.
“These schools and districts are working against the odds to provide an excellent education for their students,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said. “This is so much more than numbers or data. We are talking about changed lives for thousands of students. I can’t overstate how proud I am of every teacher, administrator, and parent who worked to make that happen.”
· A High-Progress School is among the 10 percent of the state’s Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of the “all students” group over three years on the statewide assessments. A school may not be classified as a High-Progress School if it has been identified as a Priority or Focus School.
Congratulations to Evansdale Students, Staff, and Parents for this award -

Evans Road Closure Starting Monday, March 13th
DCSD Transportation met with the DeKalb County Water Department this afternoon.
At that meeting, it was confirmed that Evans Road will be closed at the intersection of Evans Road and Henderson Mill Road starting Monday March 13th. It is scheduled to be closed for 6 weeks. Please take some time to plan accordingly this weekend to ensure your students continue to get to school on time. The morning buses will continue to have their same schedule.
As of now, the only afternoon bus change is as follows - Students who are Purple 2 bus riders (Ashford Embry Hills) will be dismissed at 2:20. Students who are Purple 1 bus riders (Estuary/Henderson Mill) will be dismissed at approximately 2:35-2:40. Please make sure there is someone to meet students who are PreK-2nd grade at their bus stops 10 minutes after they leave school.
Both buses are at capacity, so there will be no transportation changes granted to move a student from one bus to another during this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we are all in this together.
