Faculty Development Center- Graduate assistant (2015-2016)
Location: 107 CENTER Applied Science
Job description: This graduate assistant will participate in the operation of the unit, which offers workshops on instructional design and pedagogy in order to enhance student learning. The person in this position will update calendars, create and/or edit PowerPoints, confirm workshop reservations, market our workshops via social media, attend workshops, and greet faculty who stop by the center. If interested, participants may research and present a workshop themselves during the academic year.
Workload: The graduate assistant works 20 hours per week during times when the Faculty Development Center is open (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday). Some events may take place in other buildings on campus. The work schedule is based on the Graduate Assistant’s schedule and on the scheduling needs of the unit. On rare occasions, this work schedule may include evening or weekend hours.
Supervision: The Graduate Assistant works under the general supervision of the Coordinator of the Faculty Development Center.
Qualifications: Students must meet the qualifications in the Graduate Assistantship Guidelines (para. 3) set forth by Murray State University. http://tinyurl.com/qf9mc9y. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Google Drive (particularly Forms and Spreadsheets) is required.
