Back To School
Time to ditch those beach chairs, swimsuits, & flip-flops
One Week to Go!
Enjoy this last week! You may already by working hard to get started on this new year, but don't forget to have some last minute "me" time.
Archdiocesan Opening Mass is Monday, August 19!
Everyone at OLOL will attend the opening Mass for the new school year at the National Shrine. The Mass begins at 10:00 am. Carpools will leave the OLOL parking lot at 8:50 am. This is the easiest way to get to Mass because there will be plenty of us who know where we are going. Mrs. McGann will be saving an area within the Shrine for us, look to sit midway up on the left side. If you are not carpooling, give yourself plenty of time. Parking fills up fast.
Faculty Picture & LUNCH!
Bring a smile to school with you! We will be taking a faculty picture when we return from Mass (planned for 12:30). There will be a delicious lunch, with lots of laughs, at 1:00 pm in the Library Media Center. Then it is back to reality. Mrs. McGann & Mr. Long have an exciting, inspirational, and educational meeting planned at 3:00 for all new teachers . For all the old-timers: time to work in your classrooms, go home tired, and get used to going to bed early.
Refreshed & Ready for Tuesday Meeting Day! Breakfast at 8:30 & Meeting starts at 9:00
Welcome All to a Great School Year! OLOL Rocks!
This flyer was made by me - Amy Moore. I teach the Library & Computer classes and do a whole lot of other techie stuff. I am trying out this online flyer for the first time and I think it has great benefits and uses in all your classes. One of my thoughts for this year is "Go Paperless". This could be such a great & fun way to communicate with each other and our OLOL communities. Take a look at www.smore.com! I'm hoping to get everyone excited about this new kind of communication & collaboration. We are very fortunate to be using Google Apps for Education for email, documents, calendars and more. We will learn how to use all the wonderful Google tools, doc, spreadsheets, and more this year. We also started to get the hang of using Edmodo last semester and I'm excited to move forward with you on this outstanding instructional tool. See ya'll soon!
Making Connections
Once school starts you'll know where to find me, but if you know what it means to "Tweet" or if you have a Twitter account, I encourage you to follow me on Twitter. I am mostly a "lurker", but I find wonderful information using Twitter as my PLN (personal learning network) and retweet often.
