Delve will be removed from all accounts on Friday, May 13th
- On Friday, May 13th, 2016 at approximately 11:59pm EST, Delve will be removed from all school and corporate Office 365 online accounts. Delve is a cloud-based search engine that users could use to find shared documents between them and other Office 365 online users. Files found within Delve could be located within a user’s OneDrive or the K12 Intranet SharePoint site.
- While Delve will be disabled for all online users, the ability to share and view documents with other Office 365 online users still exists in OneDrive and SharePoint. There will be no additional impacts to OneDrive and SharePoint applications as a removal of this enhanced search feature.
- If you use Delve to access documents shared with colleagues, be certain to obtain the direct URL or SharePoint path to access the file after May 13th. No additional action is needed by each Office 365 online user. Reminders will be sent prior to the disabling of Delve.
Icademy Summer School Program
Thank you for the opportunity to present the iCademy summer school program during your HOS meeting last week.
As a follow-up, please find below the steps we’re seeking your assistance in and timing.
- If you wish to offer a for-pay summer school option to your rising 9th – 12th graders, please let us know how you would like to engage your governing entity (authorizer, board, school district, etc.)—the two options are: 1.) HOS initiates request or 2.) K12 Private Pay initiates request- If you choose this option, please email Mary Ingwersen this week.
- In order to communicate this option to your families, we’ll require written consent (email is fine) from your governing entity.
- We’re looking to receive written consent from the governing entity by COB 4/29 in order to give families the opportunity to enroll for the first term which closes enrollment on 5/23.

Cheers to You!
Take an opportunity to celebrate a colleague(s) via our weekly "Cheers" and shout outs. Here are this week's cheers:
- Cheers to Insight School of Oregon. They are at it again with their crazy/wonderful incentives for student growth. This video was a created as a reward because 169 kids raised at least one of their grades by a full letter over Spring Break. That is 28% of the student body. Way to go JD McMahan (Unicorn) and team.
- Cheers to John Huber for being a great leader who both inspires and helps to problem solve when needed.
Cheers to Cecily Kiester who is off to a magnificent start as the west’s new Regional Operation’s Manager.
Cheers to Monti Pittman for his amazingly positive, ever-present, can-do attitude.
Cheers to Nicole Tiley for always being so helpful and willing to share resources/ideas!
We would like to highlight your Cheers in the next HOS Highlights newsletter. Feel free to cheer for regional teams as well as your fellow HOS's. Please submit your cheers to Brandi Maynard.

2015/16 Leadership Academy Content and Focus
2015-2016 Leadership Standards and Practices
Leadership Academy #1- "Explore U": YOU are the focus of Leadership Academy #1 entitled, Explore "U". Throughout the first seven weeks we will focus on your strengths as indicated in the Myers-Briggs assessment most of you took in January, 2015. Throughout the cycle you will build upon your strengths and learn to leverage those strengths to minimize weaknesses.
Leadership Academy #2- "Build It and They Will Come": Your knowledge and expertise will be leveraged to build out content for one of the leadership strands. Each School leader chooses one standard to work with over the course of the 7 week cycle. The goal will be to codify your expertise within the leadership strand to build a complete leadership Academy cycle in your area chosen area.
Leadership Academies #3-5-: Once the content is built, you will choose one strand to focus on for the remaining cycles. Choice is built into the process and we would like you to choose two standards. We suggest you work with your RVP/DRVP to choose one leadership strand that you would like additional support in. The strands include: Strategic Leadership, Instructional Leadership, Community, Human Resources, and Organizational Management.
School Leadership Development Team
The School Leadership Development Team leads the design, development, execution, and evaluation of national programs that build exceptional school leadership across K12’s network of managed schools. The team coordinates school, regional and national efforts to improve leadership practice and school outcomes.
