ND IT Crowd Update

A New Semester's Resolution - the first Tiger Tech Tip of 2016!

I hope you have remembered to sign in this morning and of course you remember to sign out when you leave campus everyday, right? This record keeping is vital to your safety and the security of the building in case of an emergency.

While signing in and out was a major challenge for my brain to remember, I haven't missed a day since Thanksgiving! How do I do it? I don't! I let tech do the work, making my life easier and removing one more To Do from my list.

It also takes Rita hours of her time to send reminder emails and track people down, but not anymore since she will have an electronic record that can be quickly reviewed in an emergency from any device.

You can do this to and here is a short tutorial to get you set up in minutes!

Want help getting set up? Stop by at lunch or after school today (Tuesday). It only takes a couple minutes to get set up!

Note, you do have to create a free account on If This Than That and enable location services on the app so it knows when you arrive and leave campus. This is an OPTIONAL way to streamline the sign in/out process.

Connected Educators

During yesterday's meeting, we talked about the Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community. Two hallmarks stood out during the discussion...

We embrace the gift of diversity and

We develop holistic learning communities which educate for life.

Many individuals and groups talked about the need to continue working on connecting ourselves and our students to the global community. Technology can connect us to those nearby and to others around the world. This semester I will share tools that can help you develop as a connected educator and enhance how we support our students.

The first tool is our own G+ communities! These groups allow us to collaborate, communicate, and share what is going on in our classes and departments. Head over there now to continue the discussion from yesterday.
