It's always warm in Dutcher Gym!
JANUARY 20, 2022
Brrrr- I think the deep freeze has set in for the next few days. We live in Iowa so we should be used to it, but I never seem to reach that point! We will keep the kids warm inside!
As with all the COVID guidance up to this point, things change quickly and often. The most up-to-date guidance states that COVID positive students and staff can return after 5 days IF they have NO symptoms and wear a mask for the additional 5 days. If they have any symptoms or prefer not to wear a mask, students and staff will need to stay home for the 10 days.
This is a change from the first guidance as the CDC and IDPH (IA Dept of Public Health) were not in agreement. They now agree to the above guidance. Thank you for your patience as we try to keep up with the ever changing and often conflicting guidance. This morning we are at less than 1% of our school testing positive for COVID. Continue praying for good health!
Our Annual Appeal is underway and I want to thank everyone who has generously donated! We are excited to close out the appeal and celebrate our school and preschool on February 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn. A big Thank You to our Main Event committee members who are working so hard to secure auction items and plan a fun evening with live music, dancing, great food, and beverages. I look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings,
Lynette Hackett
Principal
P.S.: Registration for Clover Patch Preschool is now open for fall 2022. Tell your friends. Day care fills fast! Applications are available on our website.
FAITH
Each year we celebrate Catholic Schools Week with faith, service, and many activities. We will kick off the week with student-led Mass at 5 PM on Saturday, January 29.
Click here to sign your child up to help Saturday Mass.
Click here to help set up/serve/or provide food for the CSW teacher lunches on Monday, Jan. 31, or Friday, Feb. 4.
EXCELLENCE
Every year we establish a schoolwide goal to help our students be successful and improve our academic program. I love that this component of the Leader in Me focuses us on a common goal. This year our challenge is for 100% of our students to meet or exceed their individual math goals. Congratulations to Mrs. Luder's class for reaching that goal in January!
SERVICE
St. Patrick Catholic School values the partnership with our parish. Students collaborate with the parish on a variety of projects. Recent ones have included making birthday, Christmas, and New Year's cards for the homebound. Students help with larger events and projects too, but doing seasonal outreach is one way students learn that small acts of kindness make a big difference. Take a look at the thank you note we received below. Their service does not go unnoticed!
