Santee Cooper: Scholarships & Trainings for Employment

2022 Electrical Line Worker SC Program- Scholarship to attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College or York Technical College. Students will attend the program full time and will be exposed to the technical curriculum and manual training necessary for success. Deadline: January 7, 2022

2022 Power Associates-2 yr. Scholarship Program
**This is a SCHOLARSHIP program and NOT a full-time job.**

Santee Cooper's Power Associates Program is a competitive scholarship program that prepares high school graduates for rewarding technical careers in the electric utility industry. Students can attend Trident Technical College, Orangeburg-Calhoun or Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Deadline: January 7, 2022

Nucor Technical Academy- Fall 2022

One of a kind opportunity!

The Nucor Technical Academy is a 3-year schooling and training program hosted by Nucor Tuscaloosa. Each class will be made up of 15-20 individuals from our divisions around the country. Selected candidates will attend classes at Shelton State and work at the mill for a combination of 40 hours per week. After successful completion of the 3-year program, candidates will have earned an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology and the opportunity to join Nucor’s electrical maintenance team.


  • Tuition, Books, and fees covered by Nucor.
  • Housing provided for Students.
  • Hourly wages paid for both work and classroom hours.

NUCOR Technical Academy

MUSC Teen Science Ambassador Internship Program

The MUSC Teen Science Ambassador program is an internship offered by the Youth Collaborative for individuals from groups that are underrepresented in STEM and have a passion for science. Ambassadors will join our team for weekly meetings at the Medical University of South Carolina. We will provide our Ambassadors with dinner, travel assistance, and compensation.

This program is possible through the Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
