HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 7 June 14 2019
FROM MARK
Dear Parents/Guardians
If you were at mass on Saturday night you would have witnessed the good will, kindness and good humour, together with the reverence shown by the children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, as well as their guardians and families. It was a very special evening. Father Peter made everyone most welcome.
The Musica Viva concerts on Wednesday were outstanding. They mark the culmination of the Music Programme taught by Michelle Kirwan. The musicians were exceptional as was the engagement of our children.
Congratulations to our Pre Primary Catherine Gang who did an awesome job of sharing their gifts with us this morning – you were amazing! What a great assembly.
We hope to see you at next week’s assembly led by our Year One Catherine Team. We look
forward to it!
Have a great weekend.
Mark de Kluyver
Principal

Staffing Update
Mr David Edwards in Year 4 Dominic will be taking Long Service Leave for Terms 3 & 4 this year. We wish David all the best on his well-deserved leave.
I am pleased to inform you that Miss Claire Wilson will be taking over from David for the rest of the year. Claire is very excited at the opportunity to teach and support the Year 4 Dominic students. Claire will be spending some time with David this term to ensure a comprehensive handover.
CONFIRMATION YEAR 6
Over the weekend our Year 6 children undertook the Sacrament of Confirmation. We thank Kaye from the Parish and our teachers for preparing the children, Father Peter for engaging us all so beautifully in the Mass, and for all the families, sponsors, parishioners, teachers and friends who came along to support the children.
MERIT WARD RECIPIENTS - ASSEMBLY - FRIDAY 21 JUNE
Tuesday’s weather was lousy. Dropping children off in the morning can be time consuming, but this act of double parking, compromising access and potentially damaging our reticulation is not acceptable. The rules are for everyone. Please use the Drive Through in front of the hall, or park properly!
SEQTA Engage Parent Log-in
Dear Parents,
It is important that you please check your log in for SEQTA Engage as early as possible so that you will be able to access your child's report at the end of this term.
To do this you need to go to the following site:
https://holyrosarydblv.coneqt-p.cathednet.wa.edu.au/
or follow the link from our school website to “SEQTA Engage - parents” and use your username and password credentials that you set up last year.
New Families and PP parents were sent an email on Wednesday link inviting them to setup a username and password to SEQTA Engage.
If you have remembered your username but have forgotten your password, please click on the Forgot your password? link and an immediate email will be sent to you. The email will expire within one hour, so please action this immediately.
If you forgotten both of these, then please contact the school and we can remind you of your username.
MUSICA VIVA CONCERT
What a fantastic time we have had with our Musica Viva Concerts this week!
All the students at Holy Rosary were a part of the audience. The concerts were the culmination of a 10-week programme of work, giving the students opportunity to learn and experience the music and see instruments of the early Baroque period.
The concerts were presented as a musical and this gave our students a very different experience to how a musical can be presented, and as the musical was loosely based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions, we have also studied the life and works of Da Vinci.
Feedback of the performance from teachers and students has been very positive. The performers too thanked the Holy Rosary students for their fantastic concert etiquette and for being so engaged with the performance. Well Done Everyone.
Michelle Kirwan - Music Teacher
Altar Servers
Congratulations to Hannah, Levi and Zara in Year 5, and Oliver and Thomas in Year 6 who completed altar server training this week. Your service and dedication are important parts of Our Lady of the Rosary parish life. We look forward to seeing you serving at mass soon.
Big thank you to Fr Chinh and the acolytes who supported the children throughout their training.
