Celebrating our librarian, Mrs. Childress!
April 4th is National School Librarian Day. It is set aside to honor all school librarians. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized, helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning and are dedicated to creating an environment they can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment.
The school librarians provide guidance and expose our youth not only to texts, print media, and literature, but to digital resources and the technology to connect them to libraries around the world. A school librarian’s ability to manage scores of media and a library full of students with numerous projects and schedules astounds us.
Congratulations Mrs. Kelli O'Donnell!

School Safety
What is a Temple ISD School Resource Officer?
A School Resource Officer or an “SRO” is a member of a select group of City of Temple Police Officers that receive special training. These officers are assigned to Temple ISD Schools on a full-time basis, and work as mentors for TISD students. SRO’s are full time law enforcement officers employed by the Temple Police Department. The SRO works to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for students and educators. The SRO investigates and takes appropriate action related to criminal activity that may occur on school campuses. The SRO's that are assigned to middle and elementary schools coordinate the GREAT program and safety classes for students.
The SRO also assists our campus with safety drills including evacuations and lockdowns. The safety our students is our top priority!
Our School Resource Officers assigned to KPES, along with WHES and JES is: Officer Jerrod McCoy
