DUAL CREDIT UPDATES
What is the last day to withdraw from classes for Spring 2020?
The deadline to withdraw for Spring 2020 has been extended until May 13, 2020.
Additionally, for those students who choose to not withdraw from the course but rather elect to receive an Incomplete “I” grade instead, the completion deadline has now been extended to December 10, 2020.
What does it mean to receive an Incomplete (I)?
This grade is given when you cannot complete the course requirements due to some unforeseen problem. It is your responsibility to request this arrangement from the instructor. The Incomplete Contract will state the conditions of the contract and the deadline for completion. The incomplete grade will be converted to an agreed upon performance grade if the contract is not completed by the set deadline. For additional information, please refer to DCCCD's Grading Policy.

FALL 2020 DUAL CREDIT STEPS
AP EXAM UPDATES
AP exams for students begin next week. Teachers and students have been diligently preparing for these exams. Parents and guardians can help students confidently prepare for exam day by
checking out the 2020 AP Testing Guide and watching the overview video. The comprehensive guide will help you walk through exam preparation, and the video will give you a sense of what students should experience on exam day.
Encourage your student to practice with the exam demo. You and your students now have access to an exam demo. Students should use the demo to practice the different ways to submit exam responses.
The most important step all students should take right now is to make sure they can log onto myap.collegeboard.org. Everything related to AP exams this year will be sent to the email address students have associated with this account. If students have any questions, they should contact their AP teacher.
Extended time for those with that accommodation are automatically built into the AP software and online AP exams are compatible with assistive technology and zoom functionality.
Students with technical or other issues on testing day will be directed to complete an application for late testing in June. Please note that Internet Explorer is not compatible with AP testing.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
When students are struggling with stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues, the idea of seeking help can feel overwhelming. That's why we want to give students, and those who support them, a safe and easy-to-use mental health resource that could make all the difference to overall student mental health. In partnership with the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation, Gale has created Cameron’s Collection, a collection of eBooks, to help the DHS Library privately support student mental health with health and wellness information—including where to find professional help, mental health services, support groups for mental health issues, and counseling.
Cameron’s Collection can promote awareness of student mental health and wellness issues and act as a starting point for dialogue and behavior modifications. The 15 eBook titles available span diverse topics, including suicide prevention and mental health, panic disorders, mindfulness and self-care, the psychology of socializing, deconstructing stigmas, stress and anxiety, the influence of race and culture, self-confidence, and more.
Available on Gale’s eBook platform, this student mental health resource offers targeted health materials and guidance that students can reference anytime, anywhere, and on any device. Students can save and download audio files onto their mobile devices with Readspeaker text-to-speech technology. This helps maintain their privacy and discretion on and off their campus while accessing this mental health resource. ESL students can access Cameron’s Collection and benefit from article and interface-level translation that offers nearly 40 languages options.
