Congratulations Alli! Your hard work has paid off!
Mrs. Georgia Receives Social Work Grant!
By providing more mental health resources to trained staff in the building it allows for greater support of students. In the school setting there has been an increase in depression, anxiety, peer conflict, self-injurious behavior, and many other mental health and life skill concerns.
The successful grant included covering the costs for multiple workbook collections that cover mental health, life skills, and adult transitional skills to help address these problem areas listed above along with incentive packets and snacks. This grant covers the costs of the program for the next two school years.
Congratulations Mrs. Georgia on your successful grant and we wish you lots of success in working with our youth the next two years on whole-child development.
NHS Paper Drive
"Cancer fundraisers had been done in the past by FHS, but they hadn’t been done for several years. In 2020 proposals were made, and were approved and then we began work. We knew it would be something the community would rally behind, because no one is left unaffected by cancer," said Nick. "I'm happy to do my best and help raise funds for those diagnosed and in need of monetary assistance."
NHS had a goal to raise $750 and that goal was achieved and then some. They set up at three events as well as multiple school lunches. Cabin fever started the event with over $200 and at our final event (home girl's basketball game) they raised the remaining total and then some.
Even though one goal was monetary, the main goal was getting the student body and community to come together for a great cause.
Nick stated, "When we came into the gym trying to gather more donations the student section was one of the most active I had seen. Multiple students gave $5, $7, and $10 dollar donations. With that, I was able to say it “$0 dollars till our goal we have raised $750 dollars and that was the greatest feeling in the world."
It is that sense of community when we all come together for a selfless donation that feels amazing. That is what NHS and Nick were striving for with one community acting like a family.
FHS Snowfest 2020

Cabin Fever
The 28th Annual Cabin Fever Variety Show presented by the Farwell Band Boosters and our amazing local talent was a huge success on February 8. There were top notch performers lined up for hours of entertainment once again this year as seen from the pictures below.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for our Farwell Band Program and this year there were thousands of dollars raised from door tickets, donations, 50/50 tickets, advertisers, and concessions. This was all possible with support from our community.

FHS Assembly: Think First!
FArwell High School students heard from survivors on their experiences and how the traumatic events they were a part of have impacted their lives. After the assembly, students were able to engage in one-on-one conversations with the survivors.
This was a free assembly with all costs covered by the foundation and is open to other schools with presentations for all grade levels.
