Cardinal Connect
June 5 - 9 : Week 40 - Trinity Sunday
Principal's Message
Dear Cardinals,
We are back in ordinary time in the liturgical calendar of the Church (which means green prayer and altar cloths, etc.) - but June is anything by ordinary!
June is certainly a full month at SAB as we prepare for Grad, final exams, and many other year end events and monthly recognitions. This past week was no exception - I hope you are able to take the time to check out some of the photos in this newsletter to see all the amazing events that happened last week and to get info for all that is to come in this full, but exciting month.
Today in the church we celebrate Trinity Sunday which is an opportunity for each of us as Catholics to reflect on the amazing God we serve - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is certainly a special day to again be reminded of God's great love for each one of us.
This month in the Church is also dedicated in a very special way to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In a month that is so busy, it is such a blessing to be reminded that Jesus' heart of love - his sacred heart - burns with eternal and unconditional love for each and every one of us.
June is National Indigenous History Month and students and those in the building will have certainly noticed the Tipi which has been raised in the front Foyer as a place for teachings to continue as we walk the journey of Truth and Reconciliation.
June is also Filipino Heritage Month in Canada, and we at SAB realize that this gives us a special opportunity to celebrate the Filipino culture, traditions, and languages, as well as the many contributions the Filipino community have made.
In June, many across Canada recognize Pride Month, and we at St. Andre Bessette, reaffirm that we are honored to pastorally serve all persons, irrespective of sexual orientation or gender. All are welcome at SAB. All belong. All are made in the image and likeness of God. We at SAB continue to recognize, affirm, and work to further our school as safe, welcoming, and inclusive.
As you can see, June is certainly a FULL month!
Prayer:
Loving God,
You set the rainbow in the clouds, as a sign of the covenant between you and humanity; a sign of life. Let this sign of Your faithfulness renew within us our fidelity to you. Enable us to love one another as Christ, your Son, has loved us. Grant us the grace we need to work toward a world without discrimination and hatred. Help each of us to be people of inclusion who build Your Kingdom. We ask that the Mercy and Love of Your son Jesus' Sacred Heart guide us in all that we do - this month and always.
Amen+
Blessings,
Scott Walker
Principal

A couple of friendly reminders from SAB!
1) If your child is currently enrolled at SAB, there is no need to register for next school year as your enrollment rolls on over! Convenient, right? :)
2) Did you know that you are able to pay school fees by installments? Over the course of the semester if it helps your situation, you are able to pay school fees by installments of your choice through PowerSchool. Every bit along the way helps our school and its programs run smoothly and effectively! If you have any questions about school fees and payment, please don't hesitate to call the school office or reach out to Mrs. Roth at rhondar@eics.ab.ca Please note that as the year draws to a close, school fees do need to be paid in full. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
