Information and News
It has been a great week back!
Health and Safety
This time last year, COVID significantly impacted Daulton. We will continue to do our part to keep everyone at Daulton as safe and healthy as possible. If your child is ill, please consider keeping them home or taking them to the doctor. I do not expect COVID to affect Daulton like it did last year during the time between Thanksgiving break and Winter break. However, I will monitor our numbers and take the appropriate actions if concerns arise. I appreciate your help in keeping Daulton healthy.
Gifted and Talented Testing.
The window for parents to refer their child for Gifted and Talented testing is open until December 15th. Please click on HERE for more information.
4th Grade Yearbook Cover Contest
Calling all 4th grade contestants! Each year, a Daulton 4th grader is selected to have their artwork featured as the yearbook cover. If your child is interested, please click on the flyer to participate. All entries are due to the front office by Friday, December 10th.
Timberview Art Club Winter Art Camp
Timberview High School is hosting an a Winter Art Club on December 11th from 9:00AM - 3:00 PM. Click HERE for more information.
Winter Parties- Parent/Guardian Attendance
All grade levels will have their Winter Party on December 17th. Whenever we have a campus event, I face the same difficult decision regarding guests attending. I evaluate the time of year, the number of guests that could potentially attend, if the event is optional for students, and the location.
For the Winter Party, parents/guardians will not be permitted to attend this year. In previous years, this event brought in well over a hundred visitors. I must put the health and safety of your student(s) and staff first. I also want to limit the possibility that your child brings something home during winter break that could spread to your family.
Please know that these are not easy decisions to make. It is not my goal or intention to prevent parents from attending events. I wish you all could be here to celebrate with your child and the Daulton staff. I want all students and staff to enjoy their holiday break and not increase the risk of anyone getting ill.
For the 3rd 6 weeks, lunch visitors will be permitted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The days guest will be allowed on campus for lunch will change every 6 weeks. We hope this will allow us to meet the schedules of parents/guardians/family members to join their child for lunch throughout the year.
NOTE: I know it is fun for your child to invite a friend, but you can only sit with your student during lunch.
There has been a steady increase in the number of students arriving after 8:00am. It is vital for all students to be in class before instruction begins.
MORNING DROP OFF & WALKING LATE STUDENTS INSIDE
During morning drop off, please pull all the way forward when you pass the crosswalk. This allows us to unload more students and prevent tardies.
At 8:00am, we will place cones at the entrance that leads to the front of the building. The lane that leads to our parking lot will remain open. If you arrive after 8:00am, please park and walk your child inside. This adjustment is being made to ensure all students are safe getting in the building when staff members are no longer outside on duty.
