AIR Testing
Please help us with making sure your student knows that they need to come prepared with their charged chromebook, to bring their charger just in case they need it, and not to bring any food or drinks other than water. They may not access cell phones or ear buds during the entire testing period.
The remaining State AIR TESTING Schedule is as follows:
(*Students with accommodations might be tested with students currently taking the class. They should have been given a letter indicating their testing dates and locations.)
All testing will start at 8:15 am
4/29 Algebra -for students who are currently enrolled in Algebra.
4/30 American History- For students who are currently enrolled in American History and for students who are enrolled in AP American History but NOT taking the AP American History exam.
5/1 Make-up tests for any students who missed Geometry or Government and for any students who wish to RETAKE these 2 tests because they scored a 1 or a 2.
5/2 Make-up tests for any students who missed Biology or Algebra and for any students who wish to RETAKE these 2 tests because they scored a 1 or a 2.
5/3 Make-up test for American History and or for any student who wish to RETAKE American History test because they scored a 1 or a 2.
This will also be the last day to make up any of these 5 tests for students who have been absent on another test day. (Students with accommodations will continue testing after 5/3.)
*Students who scored a 1 or a 2 on any of these tests will be required to report to testing on the appropriate day and time, unless they have the Refusal to test form completed with parent signature and returned to their counselor PRIOR to the day of the scheduled test.
*Students and parents who do not communicate any exceptional circumstances with their counselor or Mr. Cooper prior to 5/3 and fail to show up for the appropriate test on the appropriate day and time, will forfeit their opportunity to test this spring. (Students with accommodations may test after 5/3 to allow for extended time, interpreters, and other required accommodations.)
State AIR testing is mandated by Ohio Revised Code. As such, each school is required to test their students as dictated by the law. P
Senior Graduation Survey:
All Seniors are required to complete the Senior Graduation Survey prior to May 7th. This survey is required in order for us to be able to send final transcripts to universities, community colleges, military, trade schools, and employers. Seniors are also asked to list all scholarships with amounts offered to them (not just the scholarships they’ve accepted) in order to be recognized at graduation. The Senior Survey can be found at https://student.naviance.com/phsc. Students will click on About Me, My Surveys, and Surveys Not Started.
Summer PE
Summer physical education registration is now open for Pickerington Schools students who will be in grades 8-12 during the 2019-20 school year. For more details and to register, go to SUMMER PE REGISTRATION.
Summer Opportunities
Summer is the perfect time for high school students to do a little resume building for their future college, scholarship, and job applications! College admissions counselors love to see their applicants continue their learning all summer long. We have been posting a variety of great summer programs and jobs for high school students on Naviance under the college page and then enrichment. We also have a bulletin board in the hallway outside of our office where we post summer job opportunities. Students may also find summer programs by going to https://www.studenteducationprograms.com/ohio/
Please make sure to apply before the deadlines.
