St Francis of Assisi News
Term 4 - Issue 19 10th December 2020
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S POST
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
I would like to extend our sincere thanks for the amazing generosity in supporting our Christmas Hamper Appeal for St Vincent de Paul. Your support in helping us to provide for local families in need has been incredible.
An enterprising group of students took it upon themselves to make and sell chatterboxes to raise money for charities. Special thanks go to the following children in Year 5 - Molly, Ruby, Cleveland, Tayla H, Tayla D, Isla R, Scarlett, Ethan, Ben, Catherine, William W and Jasmin from Year 4 - what an incredible effort. You have raised $33.05 which will go to supporting RSPCA WA and the Philippines. That is a LOT of 5c chatterboxes! Thank you for your generosity and spirit of service - St Francis would be so proud of you.
We really appreciate the unwavering support of our P&F team. Lead by Stephenie, Claire, Tammy and Heidi, they give the most precious gift - their time - over and over in support of our children, families and staff. We cannot thank you enough. This week alone, the P&F have provided morning tea for the Yr 6 Graduating students and their families, will cook a sausage sizzle for the whole school to enjoy tomorrow, AND they have supported Senora McDonald in providing a special treat for every child from Kindy to Yr 6 tomorrow - real Italian Gelato!!! Thank you so much for all you do.
On Wednesday we celebrated our final mass for the school year - a Mass of Thanksgiving. Giving thanks for all the good and gracious gifts we have received throughout the year - good health, friendship and family. Thank you to Father Dariusz and Father Marian for leading us in our spiritual growth this year, in masses and through the sacraments - your kindness, grace and guidance is just what we have needed. Thank you to Mr Tony Summers for serving as acolyte at our Mass, ably supported by Sinead and Sophia. Our altar servers - Sinead, Alijok, Summer and Sophia have served reverently this year, enhancing our special liturgical celebrations. Thanks must also go to Mr Mark Cunniffe and our wonderful choir, for the beautiful way they have lead us in song all year.
Congratulations to Miss Kaitlin Albrecht and Mr Tom Kinder on their engagement - such exciting news! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together. May God's blessings be upon you, now and always.
LAST DAY OF TERM FUN DAY & SHARED LUNCH
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day of term and all students from Kindy to Year 6 will take part in Funday activities in the morning. (Please read the information sheet below). Parents are invited to come into the school from 12:30pm for the Shared Lunch. Gelato will be available for purchase by parents during the shared lunch.
Parents wishing to take their children home after the shared lunch are asked to please sign out your child(ren) at the station outside the school office.
COVID TRAVEL OVER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
Please find below a letter for all parents who plan to travel interstate or overseas over the school holiday break. There is a process that involves providing details and letters on the understanding that parents are aware there may be a necessity to quarantine on arrival back in WA.
