HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 3 Week 7 - 1 September
FROM MARK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
To Simon Devlin and his gang of volunteers, our thanks for a fantastic Fathers Day Breakfast today! This takes some work to get ready for, and we thank you all for making such an amazing effort! A big contingent turned up to be a part of it, which is a great tradition. Thank you all.
Yesterday, our Year Five students attended the morning mass which was celebrated by our new parish priest Father Peter Hoang. And it was a lovely mass! Welcome Father Peter. We look forward to getting to know you and welcome you to our great community.
Ana Johnson and her 3 Dominic characters continued the Fathers Day theme at their assembly this morning. Congratulations and thank you for entertaining everyone in such style!
The Lapathon is on next Friday afternoon – this should be awesome!!
To all dads, best wishes for a Happy Fathers Day on Sunday – enjoy, enjoy!
Best wishes
Mark de Kluyver

HOLY ROSARY COMMUNITY NEWS
HOLY ROSARY AUSKICKERS - Many Holy Rosary families are involved in the Marist Football Club’s Auskick program. We are very proud of all our players who demonstrated the club’s spirit of friendly participation, great sportsmanship and personal growth.
The final wind up last Sunday 20th August was all about fun and a celebration of the season. Each team did their best to dress up in their team colours. Well done to our Year 1 GIANTS team who won the ‘Spirit of Marist’ award. The team and coach all dressed up in bright orange Pokémon costumes, standing out amongst the crowd. Last year our Pre-Primary Port Power team won the trophy, so it's great we are keeping it in house!
Now it’s time to hang up the boots until next season – and for parents to get a well-deserved weekend lie-in! A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents who volunteer their time to make these community club sports possible.
Check out our teams:Entertainment Books: To order an Entertainment Book online please go to www.entbook.com.au/8437a8 - The cost of a Book or Digital Membership is $70. Forms are also available from the School Office.

A huge congratulations to the winners of our Senior Chess Tournament. James Lockyer is our Holy Rosary School Chess Champion, with Ben Butson as Runner Up and Nicholas Pereira in 3rd place. A special commendation must be given to Laura Nolan in 4th place, who not only was a force to be reckoned with throughout the Tournament, but also in year 4, competed against mainly year 6 boys. Well done to all of you. To the almost 60 senior competitors, I hope you enjoyed yourself and learned a lot at the same time. It is best described as a journey of faith which passes through a number of different phases and focuses on conversation of the heart and mind on our way to accepting Jesus Christ in our daily lives.
