What an Olympic Month of Reading
The month of February brought some exciting firsts to the media center. In honor of the Olympics and I Love to Read Month, all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students logged onto their Biblionasium account and took part of the Winter Olympic Reading Challenge! Biblionasium was a hit with the students. See the attached link to learn more about this exciting opportunity for students to participate in a reading community of their own! Watch for more to come from Biblionasium as we get closer to the summer months!
Students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades learned about a fun research database called PebbleGo. We have a trial version until March. The database will start up again in September. The students were so excited to share their fun facts with one aonther. Access to the site and information on the usernames and passwords may be found on my website linked below.
Kindergarten classes received their log ins to a site called Teach Your Monster to Read. This is a free site to help kids practice the first stages of reading. User names are the student's first name, space, and last initial. Each password is the students' first name. Check it out!
