Picture Retakes Oct. 14

For Retakes:

Once pictures have been delivered to families, and if they find they would like to come in for retake day, they need to bring in the old pictures, with a note on what needs to be fixed, so that we can get a better photograph for the student.

There is a link to preorder school picture for those who missed the original picture day http://olivephotography.hhimagehost.com/202223NCCSRetakeDayPreorder.

International Student Program: Host Families Needed

This year we have several international students who will study at school. We are thrilled to have three students currently attending, and we will welcome five more after the new year. It is urgent that we get host homes secured by December for these new students. We would like to ask our school community to consider hosting one of these students:

Starting January 24, through mid April, we will welome two 10th grade Japanese girls, who will study in a 3 month short-stay program with us. We can share bios on the girls for those who are interested.

Starting January 24, we will welcome three 11th grade boys from our sister school, VCCS, in Korea. These students will complete the school year and then return for their senior year at NCCS.

We would love for you to open your heart and possibly your home, to this opportunity. Please pray with your family about being a host family to an international student. Host families receive a montly stipend to cover living expenses for the student. If you feel called to provide a home for one of these students, please reach out to our International Program Advisor Jodi Gill with questions, interest and inquiries.

"Under Construction" 2022 Jog A Thon

On Sept. 23, we held our elementary Jog A Thon. We had an exciting event with perfect weather, wonderful volunteers, and an amazing amount of pledged donations. We are thrilled to announce that just over $25,000 was raised for our Campus Improvement Project.

Thank you to our Fundraising Committee for putting together the Jog A Thon this year!

A HUGE APPRECIATION TO THOSE WHO DONATED. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Campus Improvement Project Progress!

To finish the entire project, there is a need for additional donations. If you are able to give to the Campus Improvement Project, please use the QR code below, and checks are also accepted through our office. We would also welcome any efforts to share this need with others in your circle of influence. Questions or inquiries should be directed to Sherri James.

Thank you to those who have already given to this significant project. You are making a difference to the future of NCCS!

Photos of School Events Needed

Our NCCS yearbook staff is looking for parents who can help us out by providing high-quality photos of our sports teams and special events (Prek-12th). Since we are such a small school, our yearbook students are not able to attend all events in order to take photos--and often, if they are attending the event, it's because they are participating in it! Because of this, we rely on other folks to help us get great photos for the yearbook.

In the past, we've had a couple of parents who voluntarily took photos and shared them with us as they were able. This year, we want to formalize that a bit. We are looking for parents with one or more students in 5th - 12th grade who would be willing to partner with us in taking photos at our school for the yearbook.

If you're interested, just fill out this form and your yearbook staff will be in touch!

Lost Items

We are asking parents to put their child(ren)'s names in articles of clothing, on water bottles, etc., to easily identify personal items brought to school. We have VERY limited space for a Lost and Found space, so we will not be holding on to items more than a week. We will donate any items to a charity at the end of each week, unless they are clearly marked with a student name and we can get it to the student on the same day.

Mexico Mission Trip Meeting

Find out more about our June 2023 Mexico Trip to the NOE Center at an Informational Meeting for parents and students, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 6:30pm, Rm. 212. For information, please contact Mrs. Hespen, secondary teacher and Mission Trip Leader.

Volunteer Needed for Bottle Drop Collection

Can you help us with managing a project? We have asked our school community to bag up some blue bags of bottles/cans to support a Mexican child’s Christian education at https://noeinternational.org/ and help our students go to Mexico in 2023. We are looking for an older student or parent who can help us manage getting the filled bags to the Bottle Drop so they can be added to our account.

For those of you who want to participate with supporting this ongling fundraising effort, please take as many of the Blue Bottle Drop bags as you can fill from the lobby…we have hundreds! Save them for us, and return them filled to the front lobby. Remember to distribute glass so bags are not too heavy. Please use the blue bags rather than your own as we have to transfer them.

Thank you!!! —Margaret Hespen, NCCS Spanish & Art Teacher, and Mission Trip Leader

Seminar on Christian Education

All parents, grandparents, teacher, pastors...You are invited to a seminar on Oct. 21, 6:30-7:30 pm, at Faith Bible Christian School. See the attached flyer below with full details.

Christian education is a powerful tool helping families raise young people

who are prepared to live for God in an unbelieving world. But it’s easy to

misunderstand what Christian education is all about. Many people think

that the main things that make education Christian are the kindness of the

faculty and staff and the conservative viewpoints that teachers have on

social issues. These things are part of the picture, but they are not the key

distinguishing characteristics of Christian education.

Pastries with Parents

Each month administration will host a time of community fellowship for parents of children PreK-12th grade. There will be a time of prayer, a devotional, sharing, learning, and connection, along with some tasty pastries served. We will set aside the FIRST THURSDAY of each month to spend this time together. We will plan for varied times around arrival and dismissal. Join us Thursday, Oct. 6 at 1:45-2:30 pm, for Pastries with Parents. We will meet in Room 404. This month we will look at Right Now media as a resource for parents, as well as our theme for the year.

Future dates:

Nov. 3, 8:15-9 am

Dec. 1, 8:15-9am

2022-23 School Verse Passage

Ephesians 6:13-17 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
