Week of September 28
2nd Six Weeks and Parent/Teacher Conferences
We have a busy week ahead of us! This week will begin the 2nd six weeks. We will have about 75 students returning to in person instruction this week. We will begin the 2nd six weeks with 60% in person and 40% virtual. We will continue monitoring and following our Return2Campus plans. Parents of students coming to campus please take time to read the special section below on reminders for Monday.
In addition, we are hosting parent/teacher conferences this week. Please work to find a convenient time to meet with your child's teacher(s) this week. We will be sharing information about beginning of the year assessments and working together to set goals for the year.
Finally, we will be celebrating our amazing Hawk students with our 1st six weeks Hawk Assembly. We cannot have guests in attendance at this time but we will share out our celebration.
Thank you so much for partnering with us! Have a great weekend!

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Arrival
Bus: Students arriving by bus will have their temperature taken as they enter the building. Students wanting to eat breakfast will get their breakfast and sit by bus numbers in the cafeteria. Students not eating breakfast will sit by grade level in the gym.
Car/DayCare: Students arriving by car or daycare will proceed through the car line. Students temperatures will be taken and then they will be directed into the building. If a student will be eating breakfast he/she may get breakfast and will sit by grade level. If a student is not wanting breakfast he/she will proceed to the gym if it is prior to 7:10 am and sit by grade level. Students arriving between 7:10-7:30 will go straight to their classroom.
The front entrance of the building will open for neighborhood walkers only. We appreciate your understanding with our new procedures.
Dismissal
Dismissal is an extremely important part of our day. We want to ensure the safest and most efficient process to end each day at ROE. In an effort to focus on social distancing we will have a staggered dismissal. We will dismiss in the following order:
- Bus Riders
- Car Riders/Daycare
- Walkers
- After the Bell
Please complete the form below to provide your child's plan for dismissal. We know that sometimes plans may change. The best way to make transportation changes is to communicate with your child's teacher in writing. However, if an emergency arises the office can make contact with the ROE front office during the day to inform of last minute changes. In case of an emergency contact the ROE Office at 972-617-3523 before 2:00 pm.
Bus Riders/Daycare
Students who ride a Red Oak ISD bus or daycare transportation will be dismissed at the front of the building.
Neighborhood Walkers
Red Oak Elementary staffers will walk these students to one of three designated neighborhood drop-offs. Students who walk will be accompanied to the drop-off spot nearest to their home. This option is only for students living in the surrounding neighborhoods. All other students should be a bus rider, daycare rider or car rider.
Neighborhood A – Valley Ridge and Autumn Trail
Neighborhood B - Valley Ridge and Shadow Bend
Neighborhood C – Red Oak Road and Foxwood Lane
Car Pick Up
As always, each car will need to a car tag placed on the dashboard. Please be sure to stay in your car while in this line. You may enter the car line from either Red Oak Road or Valley Ridge. If you do not have a car tag, please visit the front office and we will present your tag there.
After the Bell
After the Bell will remain in classrooms/grade level pods during dismissal time. Students must be enrolled in After the Bell prior to staying.

Note from Our Nurse
We understand that it is allergy season for some students. If your student has seasonal allergies, then please get a doctor’s note indicating this diagnosis. In addition, any reoccurring symptom your child may encounter regularly should be documented with our nurse such as stomach issues, headaches, etc. Having a diagnosis already in your student’s medical records will help as we monitor students on campus for COVID symptoms.
Lunch Visitors
No Treats for School at this time
Just a reminder, as part of our health and safety plan we are not having any birthday celebrations with treats such as cupcakes or cookies. This information is available in our Return2Learn plan.
