North Branch Area Public Schools

Safe Learning Plan Details - Sept. 2, 2021

Big picture

Dear Families,

I am so excited to welcome all of you for the 2021-22 school year! Staff are already in the process of greeting students, and the energy in our schools is fantastic.

Having provided in-person learning for the vast majority of the 2020-21 school year, NBAPS is uniquely positioned to utilize last year’s data as well as data from summer school programming to guide decisions for the coming school year. The COVID Response Team will continue to engage in a consultation process for decision making:

  • Weekly consultation with county and regional public health officials to review COVID indicators

  • NBAPS COVID Response Team weekly reviews and evaluates mitigation strategies and District COVID data

  • COVID Advisory Team is consulted when a shift of level on our Safe Learning Continuum is being considered

  • Safe Learning Levels adjusted as needed with multiple modes of communication to staff, students, parents, and community members

Safely keeping our students engaged in school has been our “North Star,” and will continue providing a compass point for the coming year. We will begin the school year at a Level 1 on our Safe Learning Continuum. Our programs operated all summer at a Level 1, without evidence of COVID-19 spread. Please review the details of Level 1 here. Public settings pose the risk of exposure to COVID-19, that is the reality. We will continue to be mindful of the holistic needs of our students, monitor COVID data, and adjust our mitigation strategies on our Safe Learning Continuum as needed.

I know this is a wealth of information to take in all at once! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me using this COVID Questions and Input Form, or give me a call at 651-338-1302.
