Hello there!

A Special Greeting From the New Principal

Dear Weston Families,

I am thrilled to be writing to you as your new principal. I couldn't be more excited to rejoin the Weston family! I have spent the last 10 years working in Lapeer and wearing many hats, including Grant and School Improvement Supervisor, instructional coach/Reading Recovery teacher and principal. Prior to working in Lapeer I was a a teacher in Kearsley, at both Weston and Dowdall.

I'd like to take this opportunity to share a bit about myself. I love spending time with my family. I am the lucky mom of two great kids, who both started their school careers at Weston. My daughter attends college at MSU, and my son will be a high school sophomore. I have been married to my husband for 20 years.

I enjoy spending time with my furry family members as well. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats! I also work with an animal rescue, helping homeless pets find families. Additionally, I am a beekeeper - which has been a really interesting, though sometimes painful hobby! I suppose it is accurate to say that I love critters of all kinds!

I excitedly await the chance to meet our students and families. I am eager to learn about the individual interests and strengths of our Weston Wonders, as well as the anticipated next steps for our school. Finally, I would like to offer a thank you to Mr. Hibbs for all he is doing to make this transition as seamless as possible.

Enthusiastically,

Kasie Allen

Throwback... As principal of a K-1 building, I felt it appropriate to share a photo from my first day of Kindergarten, 1982! :)
