Oops Box
While I believe having an all school assembly for a celebration for the Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year was a good idea, I was uncomfortable hearing the specifics of students assisted. If I identified myself as one of the students, or thought I did, I would have been embarrassed. The nomination forms should be edited for students.
Response
Administration does not have a part in the TOY or SSOY process. The concern has been passed on to our PDC Chair as she handles this process. I have already spoken to our PDC Chair about the concern. In the future it will be up to the PDC Committee or a Task Force to decide to edit the nominations or to provide guidelines for submitting nominations.
