The Corley Cheer-Community Edition
Welcome Back!
Welcome Back!
Welcome to the 2022 - 2023 School Year!
Thank you for making Corley Elementary such an outstanding place for our students to learn! Our theme for the 2022-2023 school year is, “Belonging Begins With Us” This theme was inspired by YOU, our family-oriented community which makes EVERYONE feel a sense of belonging! Your commitment of love shown to our teachers, administrators, and staff is what makes Corley feel so special! Having this combined shared spirit of collaboration, enthusiasm, and supporting those in need, is what propels student achievement to even greater heights! As your principal, I VALUE each and every one of you!
We are so excited that your child will be returning to Corley! We know this school year will be amazing, thanks to YOU! As your proud principal, I am thrilled to partner with you for the upcoming school year. Please see information about our instructional focus for the school year. This is in partnership with the Curriculum and Instruction Department.
EL Education is our new K-5 literacy curriculum. EL is grounded in research and strategies to address the five elements of literacy instruction (vocabulary, knowledge-building, syntax, fluency, and decoding) most critical for closing the literacy achievement gap.
Balanced Numeracy, with a focus on small group instruction, will continue.
Instructional Conversations, an approach to support language development through content areas. Instructional Conversations is parallel to the Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies (QPTS). Trained teachers will use this technique in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies as part of instructional practices.
Blueprint for the Future: Building the Bridge from Empathy to Excellence will be our foundation for providing a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Opportunity and Access to high-quality and rigorous curriculum and enrichment activities.
