Harriet was bought into slavery at the age of seven. She did house work and took care of white children. She was one out of 11 children that where slaves.

When she was a teen she worked in the field. One day she was falling asleep because she was tired. Her owner saw her and hit her on her head. A few days later she had a head ingery.
