Gregor Mendel
By Tamryn Washington
GREGOR MENDEL: One of the first and most important scientist to discover Heredity.
EARLY YEARS- SUCCESSES
- Was recognized as a gifted child in grade school
- Graduated from school with honors
EARLY YEARS- STRUGGLES
- He was not very wealthy
- Mendel couldn't pass very tough exams and failed many times
EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
Gregor crossed different colors of pea plants for research. He wanted to use pea plants because of their purity and more easily observable characteristics. Mendel tried changing the color of the pea plants.
SPECIFIC DATA
- Gregor's question: How many different forms would result from the random fertilization of two kinds of pea plants?
- There were less green plants
- There were more yellow plants
This data shows that the yellow pea plants are dominant, and green pea plants are Recessive. The gene of them staying the form of a pea plant, means the pea plant gene is CoDominant.

CONCLUSION
Scientists rediscovered Mendel's work and some even replicated Mendel's experiments and got the same conclusions, proving Mendel's discoveries are correct.
