Google Meets Supervision
Thank you for continuing to support your child(ren) to navigate the necessary technology used to facilitate virtual learning. As a reminder, we have the following Board Policy, Student Technology Acceptable Use, LINKED HERE, for you and your child(ren) to review.
More specifically, if your student(s) enters a Google Meet outside of the scheduled meeting time, we ask that you supervise, as a MNS teacher will not be present until the posted start time. Ideally, we would like students to reserve Google Meets for supervised meeting times. Thank you for your continued support.
Mindfulness for Virtual Learners
Each week we will be sharing an idea of how to help your virtual students practice mindfulness at home and encourage focus during this unique time to be a student.
#5 - Finger Tracing
This exercise can be done anywhere and at any time, and it’s an intuitive exercise for beginners, who don’t know yet how to slow their breathing. Students take one hand and fan it out as if they were trying to trace it on paper. Then, using their other hand, they trace slowly along, one finger at a time.
Starting with the thumb, trace the outside and inhale, then trace the inside of the thumb and exhale. Repeat the process for the remaining four fingers.
In-person Recess (optional)
Wednesday, November 11, 10:15am-10:35am, Bay Lane Elementary Playground, Mrs. Plaushines (Associate Principal at Bay Lane) will be supervising!
- Students will be able to use our playground and meet others in the elementary virtual classrooms
- All will be expected to stay 6' apart while playing -OR- wear a mask if activities are closer contact. This aligns with our elementary buildings' recess safety measure. Please send a mask with your child.
- If you are a registered volunteer, you can be present on the blacktop/playground. If you are not a registered volunteer with the district, and would like to join, please register using this form: REGISTERED VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM.
