Jaguar Tracks
December 16th
Dear JE community,
This is the last Tracks of 2022. As we head into the new year, we have much to be grateful for! We have seen such tremendous growth in our students this year--academically, socially and emotionally. It is no secret that JE staff and families are absolutely incredible. We lead with love, care and determination to give our students the best educational experience possible. It takes a village... and we truly appreciate ours!
Below, please find information on key events in the community. From SEPAC, a Menorah Lighting and more.

COVID At Home Test Kits
Thanks to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), The Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Public Health for working with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as we provide at-home COVID-19 tests to all students and staff in RPS who would like them. These tests are intended for use by students and staff to support the return to school process after Winter break. We will send the test kits home with the students when we receive them.
Weather Flag Mornings:
On Weather Flag mornings (Raining, snowing or below 20 degrees), students can enter the building at 8:10.
Absences & Tardies:
If your child is going to be absent or tardy for any reason, please make sure you notify the MAIN OFFICE by 8:30 a.m. You can call the absentee phone line at 781-942-9161 or email us at jeeabsences@reading.k12.ma.us. (also on our new website!) Please let us know the reason for your child’s absence/tardiness and expected date/time of return.
Please remember to send in a note from your doctor or dentist if your child is absent or tardy due to an appointment!!
We greatly appreciate your cooperation!!

The Box Tops for Education program is now online and easy to use, no more clipping box tops! Download the Box Tops App and start scanning your digital or paper receipts from grocery stores, Target, Costco, BJs or other places you buy Box Top products. Let’s start raising some additional funds for our school in 2023!
📌 Amazon Smile: As you do your on-line shopping this holiday season, don’t forget to use the Joshua Eaton Amazon Smile link for all your purchases! Reading Public Schools is a METCO District
"Since its founding during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement, the METCO program has enrolled tens of thousands of Boston students of color in predominately white school districts, creating the opportunity for those districts to experience the advantages of learning and working in a racially and ethnically diverse setting."
Found Family Program
Please take a look at the attached document detailing our “Found Family” Program. With the collaboration of 8th grade students from Parker Middle School and all Elementary PTO’s we produced the name “Found Family,” and this document for our district Found Family program. What does Found Family mean? “A group of people who find themselves united in a family-bond based on shared experiences, mutual understanding, and interpersonal connection. Found Family is not biological but found when placed in a new place.”
