2016 Bond Election
Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe there are only a few weeks left of school! We have so many fun things planned for the remainder of the year. Please continue to check your child's red communication folder for important information regarding your child's programming and parent resources. If you have not been sending it to school, please begin to do so.
In addition, we are asking that you please send in a new change of clothes for your child, preferably shorts and short sleeve shirts since the weather has warmed up quite a bit. Finally, please continue to send your child to school in close-toe shoes and with their name tag on their body (please, please, please). Thank you!
Finally, on May 7, 2016, Plano ISD voters will decide on a $481 million bond proposal to fund initiatives recommended by the Plano ISD Facilities and Technology Force Task. "It has been eight years since the school board held a bond election. The 2008 bond program included $490 million for major projects and was initially planned to provide for capital needs through 2012." The new bond proposal will address the needs of our district as a whole and that of early childhood programs, which directly impact your child. Furthermore, the bond measure will result in a zero tax rate increase.
Attached is a link to learn more information about the bond proposal. Please consider supporting the district and our school by going out and voting in support of the bond measure on May 7th!
Thank you for your continued support!

What We Are Learning And Doing: Zoo Week Two
This week we are learning about bugs with an emphasis on caterpillars, butterflies, ladybugs, and crickets through stories, music, and games. Our class is having so much fun examining our class caterpillars. Everyone wants to know when they'll change into beautiful butterflies! The children have also enjoyed their gross motor time searching for zoo animals (extension of learning from our zoo unit) on the playground with our 4-year old friends from Ms. Referente's and Ms. Shows' classes.
We are continuing to practice our cutting skills, patterning, counting with one-to-one correspondence, sorting by more than one attribute (colors and physical features of bugs). The children are enjoying our classroom bug safari pretend center and sensory table that's full of soil and bugs. We're also enjoying our integration time with Ms. Referente's class. The children have had a blast playing in our neighbors' classroom ice-cream shop! Tomorrow we will make butterfly sandwiches with Ms. Referente's class and enjoy story and music time together.
Please continue to refer to your child's communication folder for hints/ideas on questions to ask them about their day.-- Language, Language, Language!
Thank you for your continued support!
