Assessment Windows- Coming Soon
Please be reminded that our F & P window opens on Thursday, February 27th. and closes on March 6th.
STAR runs from Monday March 9th through Friday, March 13th. In addition, the Trimester Two Common Summative Assessment (Writing) must be completed not later than March 13th. As there is much to do, please consider these windows as you plan instruction over the next several weeks.
Winsor Data Days will be held on Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 18th. A more detailed schedule will be coming soon. Please mark your calendars for planning purposes.
Evaluation Cycle Update
For those in an evaluation cycle year, please make sure that both your MOY and second observation are scheduled prior to leaving for vacation. Per the DEC, both the MOY and second observation must be completed prior to the end of February. Also, please begin to upload artifacts for the PP and PR domains. The earlier this is done, the easier the process is to manage. Avoid the deluge of competing priorities this spring. Just a few minutes once or twice a week will make for less stress.
Collins PD- Grades 3, 4, and 5
Please, if you have not done so already, mark Tuesday, February 25th in your calendar as a Collins PD day. We will again have subs for an approximately two hour rotation between Grades 3, 4, and 5- including Special Education teachers.
The schedule for February 25th:
8:45am-10:30am- Grade 3
10:50am-12:35pm- Grade 5
1:20-3:05pm- Grade 4
Responsive Classroom
It has been a pleasure to visit classrooms and see the fun and engagement demonstrated by students during morning meeting. The sense of joy and excitement was palpable. Students relish the opportunity to connect with teachers and peers in a way that naturally dovetails to a positive learning experience. A classroom Closing Circle provides a similar opportunity at the end of the day, a chance to reflect upon what was learned and how students engaged as a community of learners. We can have students leave excited for what is to come next. See the reading below as a guide to enhance Closing Circle!
